So some meggar stress, I enrolled in another tafe course to get the subfrAme rackedas I did a. Drop check and found it out quite a bit, as I winched it on the strap broke, the car rolled back and hit the house, the lhs quarter hit on tail light frame, pushed the quarter in and made a mess,I presented at tafe now with the rear quarter needing to be racked to pull the quarter out. Doh, and fuk, so now after six nights the car is back, the rear quarter mostly repaired, the subframepullec across to align the front and fenders, I then fitted the. repaired gaurds I bought, well they were sprung and repairs causing the gaurds to bulge, so. Dtoday, left hand gaurd, fitted, grinder, shrunk, belted, shrunk, fitted, bogged and sort of right now, the gaps are all good, the mission continues.
I k ow uve been waiting Claye!

Damn Spaghettijet, sad to hear she hit the rear quarter. The TAFE boys can work some miracles though. I once stove-in a Gemini (don't ask... miss-spent youth  ) and they straightened it out to within a poofteenth of an inch.

Keep plugging away on it... EJ vans are cool 8-) .

Cheers,
Harv

Got the chance to do a little. More work on the van this arvo, the RHS guard which was sprung and previously repaired before I got it needed some attention, it was very bulged forward of the door, so I ground a heap of placky out, and shrunk it down a fair it,

a few more shrinks and then a first coat of. Placky as per the pictures it’s contour matched the door now and the gap improved somewhat too. Needs a bit of welding long the top. Edge which will need to happen next before any more

Just some small progress today, tacked in front lower stone tray section that was rusted through, re contoured the fender lower sections to match the sills profile, it was either bend and bog the lower gaurds or bel5 in the sill panels, I took the easier option, so next up I’ve got to finish the front gaurds, then strip the bonnet back and prime coat, then I can removed the hang on, reprime and then put a couple of coats of colour on.

Today I finished the front fenders good enough to prime again, I have now removed them and the bonnet. Speaking of the bonnet it was time to see what nasties awaitied me in the normal place, so a bit of stripping was called for to the nose, several old school rust braze repairs were uncovered.
Not wanting to get too carried away with this, because the car has a fair bit of placky in it already, I decided to use a hole saw and drill two 25 mm access holes in behind, I then tipped a cup of deoxidine in and swished it around a bit, followed by washing out and then allowing to dry, I’m now going to pour in result converter to put make the rust in there turn to hard black scale before pouring in the POR 15.
Otherwise the bonnet is in pretty good shape for 55 year old!

Well started blocking back. The front gaurds , then I noticed cracks in the RHS gaurd, on closer inspection previous repairs lifting, so three steps forward 2 steps back, grinding out heaps of bog, slapping up the guard a bit better and then a light skim of placky.
Tomorrow, more repairingog gaurd to continue
