Upgrades to EJ Prem

Hey all,
Long time reader / dreamer, first time poster..
I'm restoring a 1962, EJ, PREMIER.
Now I want HR discs & rack & pinion, red engine.
Looking into this, in vic I need engineers.
Now doing the math, for a little more $$$'s.
I could 5lt, & so upgrade brakes, strengthen chassis, rewire, ect, ect.
If decision made when vehicle at panel beaters.
Cost wise close.
What's people's opinions on resto to orig or resto to show/enjoy?

Hi Gareth,

I'm in the same boat with an EH sedan in NSW.
Even for a 202 5 speed Engineer wants dual circuit master cylinder and collapsible steering column.
Just about to send my xmember to George at Alien Retro Columns for rear rack and pinion and steering column.

With a chassis kit I could probably drop a 308 in it without to much extra work but Ive decided to go old school with a strong 202 with triples still enough power to get me into strife with 3:55 lsd rear end :lol:

A 6 is far more cost efficient even if engineers report (VASS) is required due to steering mods. A V8 conversion will gobble up an extra $25k minimum even tackling most of the mods your self. Do a realistic budget before travelling the V8 path so you don't have a decade long project you don't see the end of.
