i will hopefully have two sample strips attending the all state run, i cannot make it but John (utility8) will be taking the samples for me. ill confirm a little closer to the event that john will have the samples, but i should have them to him this week.

im reevaluation my method to make these as the first one i made, (the one shown) came up better then the next three i made (which went to scrap). ill have another play looking for a more consistant production method.

i can make them out of any material, the one shown is stainless.

Stainless is not an easy material to work with, very unforgiving when it comes to imperfections. mild steel is much kinder...

sorry greenboy072 you will have to speak to the guy that sold the last strip on ebay for the tailgate strip.

just an update...

i have failed in getting samples to John in time to take on his trim for the ASR....

while i have over come a few issues i was having with the production of these, i struck another... so ill work that out and have some good pictures of the finished product soon..

Stay tuned...

hey, they are going pretty well. i'm currently looking into another method to try and make the "lines" sharper".

but i can currently produce the strips seen above.

the original sample, see above are about 5mm wider then standard. this is easier by far to reproduce. i have a few sample that are the original width, but its proving hard to shape the end as required.

Mmm, the originals do looks like they would be hard to shape. Would need a press the right shape or something I am guessing. I just got a set of an old rusted out ute today. One has an end broken off it. They are all pretty rusted and a bit bent up. I think a sand blast and coat of paint may do the trick on most of them. Just looking to see what other options I have for the ute I am currently working on bringing back to life. Looks like they may be an item that is hard to come by.

What would you be selling yours for dollar wise?

Hopefully you get the method sussed out eventually.

He ones above do look pretty good though.

Thanks for the update
