EH Gen Light Globe - How Many Watts?

by realluke » Thu May 22, 2014 8:18 pm

Hi All,

I have just installed an 85 amp 3 wire Bosch alternator into the EH. A requirement for this alternator is that the alternator light (Gen Globe) be no more than 2 Watts or it will kill the regulator. Hence my question, can anyone tell me how many watts the Gen globe is please? I have taken my globe out and seen it is a Mazda(now general electrics) 12-16 volt 2op 57. After a heap of searching the only reference I can find to the globe I have is this link ( http://www.jwspeaker.com/bulbs/#product=bulb-57 ). I believe it is the globe in question and says it is 3.36 watts but I have no way to be 100% sure. Any help would be appreciated.

Thank you

Luke

Watts = Amps x Volts

put a multimeter inline with the light whiles its on.....

take your reading in amps and * it by your car voltage... = RESULT :)
