Crash box info

by Mtb2rusty » Mon Aug 24, 2015 12:32 pm

Hi, I'm looking to modify or replace my original crash box in the wagon. The mrs hates driving the wagon because no synchro is first. so what I want to know is can the gearbox me modified or which later model box fits up. What options have I got. I don't want floor shift. Ironically I was given a wreak a couple of years ago with a Toyota 5 Spd. but I want to stay original
Thanks
Don

Yes well blur1 the new mrs things dose make sense being thats where this has all this started.
I've since done a bit more research and have read that a full synchro 3spd man need linkage mods. To the extent that there is a kit available for the convention.

Yes, they are available, apparently pretty good too. But, as you have a manual floor car, the transmission tunnel will need to be modified along with the rear crossmember to get the synchro box up to the correct height.
