Van Gearbox Mount

by EJ_VE_EH » Mon Oct 05, 2015 6:03 pm

I just changed the gearbox mount on my completely stock Van (149 with crashbox).
The new mount was significantly higher than the one that came out of it.........about 20mm.
I'm thinking that the original one has collapsed, but I'm not sure.

The one I put in is the same as this one:

One of the online vendors sells these type of mount, but excludes EH vans and utes. See here:

I can't imagine they're different between sedans, wagons utes and vans.
I am slightly worried that the gearbox is up too high now.

Can anyone shed some light on this ?
Rgds,
Andrew.

That one should be OK. The height variation, given it is a completely stock car, will not be an issue.

Thanks for your quick response.
It bolted in fine, and it seems to drive fine.
Here's a picture of the mount I removed:

As you can see, it's almost flat on top. I can't find any mounts that look like this, so I'm guessing that it's compressed/collapsed.

I did think that the increased angle of the tailshaft might cause an issue, but it seems OK.
Thanks again.
