Trimatic Leak

by hcap » Sat Feb 25, 2012 5:34 pm

I have a trimatic box installed in my prem that is losing fluid unfortunately when it is not moving I cannot see the leak it is only after a decent run i check the fluid and its down half a litre or so, any ideas would be gratefully accepted, I have checked the cooling pipes and they seem fine, I can notice a slight weep from the speedo cable, the pan gasket is dry like the day i installed it the selector seal looks ok .....

Is there fluid on the floor when the car is parked.Maybe Dipstick tube "O" ring
Or is only losing fluid after a drive? Could be the modulator valve.
A faulty modulator valve can also oil up number 6 spark plug and emit white smoke from the exhaust

Only once has it shown fluid of any consequence on the floor, I cannot find any on the chasis underneath the car after a run, not noticed any white smoke either

Would it be possible that 1/2 litre of fluid could be lost through the speedo cable and kickdown cable per 30 min drive?
