Nice mate, except for that rusty nut on the outrigger

Seriously though, that looks like a long list left to do, but I just had a peek at what you first started with and from that perspective, you're almost done!

Keep up the great work.

Cheers,

John

The list is getting longer

by NSWEH225M » Mon Dec 24, 2018 7:00 pm

:(

Today I thought I check the wipers after assembling the wiper motor after painting and plating, sadly it was a no go.

I had disassembled most of the motor with the exception of the gearbox, at the time I didn’t think there’d be a need, looks like I was mistaken. Inside the gearbox was a mess of old grease, dirt and a broken contact spring.

I’m going to have a go at repairing the broken contact spring, just need to replace the broken rivet and set it back in place.

Wiper Motor update

by NSWEH225M » Wed Dec 26, 2018 8:27 pm

Today I refitted the wiper, for the 6th time. The good news is that it’s now working, just not always parking itself after turning the wipers off. I’ll look into this later on, when I’m motivated.

I also painted the front valance / beaver panel today, came out well. Tomorrow I’ll assemble the whole front clip and bolt it to the car .

More progress

by NSWEH225M » Thu Dec 27, 2018 9:05 pm

Today I got the front clip fitted to the car, the longest part was polishing and fitting the grill. Once fitted to the car, the bumper bar required a bit of tweaking to get it fitted squarely. However in saying this I will need to take it off once more as one of the mounting brackets requires an adjust with the angle grinder and the welder.

Cool. What did you paint the inside of the guards with?

Cheers,

John

I’m using a 2K black which I flatten, depending on what level of gloss / matt I’m trying to achieve. For the inner guards it’s 1:1 black to Additive Mat, then harden this mix at 2:1

Today I fitted the lock mechanisms to the two front doors, as well as bolting in the baily channel support. I also fitted the door seals and trial fitted the door cards and arm rests.

The arm rests were badly warped from the sun, I’ve had a go at restoring one ( passenger side - painted blue) The drivers side one ( Grey) I’m part way through getting it back to they way it should be.

Good job on the arm rest. How did you get it back in shape?

Cheers,

John
