Heater - tap and hose location

by EH_Wagon179 » Sun Apr 14, 2019 11:44 pm

Can anyone with the poor man style heater please advise or post photos of how the heater tap is meant to be set up?

Unsure if the tap operates inside or outside cab etc as I’ve never had one.

Pictures of entire system would be ideal.

Thanks Harv. A lot of time and effort in that report!

I think in an EH (if it’s running the early red lower thermostat housing) the heater house must come from the port in the rear of the head, as the two outlets on the thermostat housing are used to allow circulation during the warm up period, although they can be blanked off.

I’m chasing install location of heater tap specifically in relation to utilizing the factory style under dash lever.

It’s possible the poor mans heater never utilized this lever though, as whikstbthere is provision for the lever in all the assemblies, perhaps they only came with the plenum lever if they did not have a factory heater.
